LIBRARY items for hire

A stretchy wrap is a long piece of fabric, this can be slightly stretchy or very stretchy. There are two types of stretchy wrap, a one way (Slighty stretchy) and a two way (very stretchy). A two way is easier to use and learn. Its an ideal option for a newborn or small baby.

My favourite stretchy wrap is the bamboo stretchy wrap by Joy and Joe baby and you can buy them here - Stretchy wraps

Close caboo - This is more of a hybrid stretchy. Its made with a one way stretchy and tightens through rings on either side.  Another great option for newborns and small babies

ring slings

A ring sling is a lenght of fabric with two sling rings sewn onto one end. Ring slings come in a few sizes from small to Xl. Most are a standard length that fit most body sizes. They have variations on the 'shoulder'. This means how it has been sewn or finished. The most common is gathered (seen in pic) Oscha are common for pleated and the highland pleat.

Ring slings are ideal for most ages but can be handy when your wee one is toddling and wants up and down a lot.

woven wraps

Woven wraps are a long piece of cloth with no stretch. They can be machine woven or handwoven. They come in different sizes, what you use depends on your body size, size of baby and what carry you wish to do. They come in sizes from size one to size 9. The most common is a size 6 and this is most peoples starter size.

Woven wraps are the most versatile option, they are suitable from preemie to preschool. You can carry on your front, your hip and your back.

Meh dais & Half buckles

A Meh Dai is an asian style carrier. This has a structured body panel with a wrap strap that comes from each corner. Two to tie at the waist and the other two go over your shoulders and cross at the back. Some of these can be adjustable and some are sized.

A half buckle is similar, but it has a buckle waistband. Again some are adjustable and some are one size.

These carriers are great if you love wovens but want the quickness of buckles.

Buckle carriers - SSC

A SSC - Soft structured carrier is a full buckle carrier. These are all quite different depending on the brand. The have a waistband that buckles and two arm straps, these are either two loops or can be crossed on your back. There are many adjustable carriers that last from newborn to toddler. Some are a set size, so baby, toddler and preschool.

All buckle carriers I stock are fully ergonomic and do not have a harness between you and baby.

This is a Japenses style carrier with no waistband. They have two straps coming from the top of the body panel and attach to the bottom by rings or buckles. They can be a quick option and ideal if you want to carry while pregnant. They can be a marmite option though due to being more shoulder heavy. They come in baby size and toddler size.
